I don't see it mentioned on this thread, so worth mentioning that the Mirror today says that we're looking to offload him.

Joey5000 Totally right Joey. He's been great for us at times. But is making more and more errors due to his age and lack of pace. Against Astra I could see him being sent off as soon as his first yellow was given. His second yellow was stupid, minutes after being booked he steps into a challenge like he did . If one of their players had done that we would be screaming for a red. However Bilic should have taken him he off after the first yellow. We were cruising at 2-0 and the impetus swung straight to Astra. Another 10 minutes and we would of seen the game out.

I'd keep hold of him as 4th choice this year and look to loan Burke out to a championship similar to how Tomkins went to Derby when he was first establishing himself.

Been a great servant to us, if he wants to stay, he should, if we were hanging on in a game, great to have him on the bench.. The comments on a mistake in 2010-12 ain't even getting addressed, ridiculous.
We were glad we had him last year when Reid was out, and not totally convinced re Ogbonna.. There again I didn't buy him for 10 million, Bilic did

You wanted to keep Allardyce which was crazy. I disagree with you on this also but I understand the thinking behind it.
However, he is in the last year of his contract I believe so it he is happy to stay as 4th choice then great.

We always seem to struggle with our centre halves getting injures, I would keep him till the end of the season and send the younger guns out on loan to get some experience.

A poor post, Junior, which totally disregards the points he has saved us with some outstanding defending. I agree with Rossall that he was at times our best defender last season. OK, he may be 4th choice but you can be sure that whoever is our 4th choice will be called upon to some degree this season. It's too early to write him off or let him go with Henry, Burke and Oxford being unproven at this level. As for his hoofing, yes, it can be annoying but I have no doubt Bilic will drum it out of him.

Man City (A) Last season, ridiculous own goal. - That was pure bad luck FFS
Astra (H) This season, Silly sending off, costing us the whole tie. - Shit refereeing causing cost us that game.
the others were mistakes though. he is a good defender and people bring shit from over 3 years ago to beat him with

Technically he isn't the best and his distribution looks to be improving which was needed
But as a defender at times he is top notch
Vs Aguero at home last season stands out

The amount people on this site who can't grasp the notion of having a squad baffles me. As soon as we sign someone there is always a thread on here saying we should sell someone.
If Collins wants to stay then he should. Great backup

Spot on
People need to understand that players seemingly happy at the club though they dont necessarily play eg...Ginge, JOB etc are integral members of any premier league squad

Also, many people don't seem to grasp the need for a squad. Just because someone isn't first choice you don't automatically try and move them on. You need strength in depth, or we end up playing 4 full backs in defence when a couple of players get injured. If we release Collins, we only have to go and buy someone else.

He's made mistakes. All centre backs do.
He's been a very solid player for us in both spells at the club, and on a good day he's had the likes of Suarez in his pocket. Also a good alternative to Reid and Tomkins when you need a bruiser with authority and aerial ability.
As long as he's happy to sit on the bench for us, he's an OUTSTANDING 4th choice defender and the least of our problems. Seems like a good bloke as well, by all accounts.

He's our 4th choice Centre back and is a good player. When did we last have some strength in depth?
I imagine he'd be a positive influence on the training ground too

Really? Or he has to get there at the last minute because somebody else is not doing their job.
For me, I'd keep him this season.

Keep him. Bloody good defender and charachter to have in the squad. And I noticed he hoofed it a lot less since Bilic arrived.
I suppose he's only got a year or two left on his contract.

Would rather others leave before him. I doubt he is on big wages either.
